I can't remember if I saw it in a post or in an article...but it was to the effect that Benoit had called in yesterday saying his family members were spitting up blood...an artice I read said they were found in seperate rooms in the house and that the woman and child had been killed Sunday, and Benoit died today.
According to those in the business at the other forum.
He may have killed his wife Sat. his son Sunday and himself today.
That is freakin crazy.
I must admit I was totally shocked when I learned of Benoit's death, but being a long time wrestling fan had seen this type of tragedy before. Now that it is coming out that he may have killed his wife and 7 year old son, the shock is turning to disbelief and disgust. I will never be able to understand how someone could do something so terrible.
Just goes to show that anybody is capable of anything, at anytime. I had great respect for him, but the respect has turned to disgust if this is true. You're right, it's not the first time this stuff has happened.
I saw Benoit in person a couple of times and he was just as big as he looked on TV. The impact and speed that he had in the ring was something to see live.
I hate to mention this, but do you think the authorities will say if they find steroids in his system? Could they have played a part in this?
I wonder how he killed them? I read earlier that the cops said no guns were involved.
On the other site someone brought up something I had forgotten about. When Benoit first started dating his wife she was married to another wrestler, Kevin Sullivan, and the whole affair was part of a wrestling story line angle that actually came true. Sullivan some might remember had some local ties. In fact I remember the late Greg Adams telling me about competing against Sullivan at a local body building show.
There's a story circulating that Nancy may have killed their son and then Benoit killed her, this story's source is the cousin of a GBI agent. As of now the latest offical word I found was this:
"Sources in the Fayette County Police Department are now working under the theory that Chris Benoit killed Nancy on Saturday, son Daniel on Sunday, and then killed himself earlier today.
Benoit was found dead in his weight room. Nancy was found dead in the lving room. Daniel was found dead in his bedroom, accordig to an unnamed source in the department.
Lt. Tommy Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on the scene," but didn't specify what those were or where they were found. Pope said the department was not actively searching for any suspects outside the house."
This is unreal. I can't believe that Benoit would kill his wife and son, it just doesn't seem real to me. I know crazy things happen all the time, especially with wrestlers, but geez. Benoit was always so intense, he loved his job, and made a point to do his best at every performance. Maybe I'm wrong, but he didn't strike me as one of those who had a screw loose. Something terrible must have happened if he did kill his family and himself. But I do hope, for the rest of his familiy's sake, that further investigation will find a different reason for their deaths.
